About the Artist
Science and Art have always been an integral part of my life. I earned my B.S. degree in Biology at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. Over the last 30 years, I have worked on habitat improvement for the U.S. Forest Service, and been involved with several zoos as zookeeper, volunteer and educator. I have worked as a veterinary assistant at several veterinary clinics specializing in exotic pet medicine and emergency care for injured wildlife.
My art is an attempt to capture in an image the magic inherent in every living being and to create for the viewer a "connection" with the Natural World and to the world of the Imagination. I am fascinated by the infinite possibilities of expression that Life can take. It is not hard to see how this leads right into fantasy art. What is Fantasy but an "exploration of the possible".
I have done illustration for magazines, and participated in fine art shows. Several of my pieces have been exhibited in galleries. I have designed and developed educational displays for The Rainier Audubon Society, Woodland Park Zoo and other animal related organizations.
